Independent Real-Time Communications Architecture

Synton is built by engineers who design and maintain dedicated real-time media systems. We build specialized Selective Forwarding Unit infrastructure focused purely on predictable latency and clean developer ergonomics.

The Focused Specialist Philosophy

Rather than attempting to be an all-purpose public cloud, Synton operates as a focused real-time media platform: a compact regional fleet of well-provisioned SFU media nodes, not a global anycast cloud. We do not provide generic VPS hosting, content distribution, or serverless databases. Every machine in our network runs a purpose-built media forwarding daemon designed to maximize throughput and minimize jitter.

By specializing exclusively in Selective Forwarding Units (SFUs), we eliminate the transcoding bottlenecks and virtualization overhead that degrade real-time video conferences during usage spikes.

Zero Over-Subscription & Dedicated Buffers

Public multi-tenant video platforms frequently pack thousands of low-tier streams onto shared server instances, resulting in sudden packet drops and audio robotic distortion when neighbor rooms peak. Synton enforces strict capacity controls:

  • Dedicated WebRTC media forwarding pipelines provisioned per tenant workspace.
  • Per-project API credentials and cryptographic room isolation keys.
  • Local NVMe recording buffers dedicated to project streams, preventing I/O contention.
  • Predictable round-trip times achieved through direct peering at major interconnect exchanges.

Operational Target & SLA

We maintain a 99.9% availability target over a rolling operational window across all active edge PoP clusters. Real-time platform component health is published transparently on our public status board.
